Day of your surgery
What you need to know
The admissions office of the hospital where you are scheduled for surgery should have contacted you the day before to advise you of your fasting time and time to arrive at the hospital.
You should ensure that you bring any relevant imaging (eg Xrays and MRI) as Dr Stening may wish to refer to these during the surgery.
Key information
- Bring all relevant Xrays
- Fast for at least 6 hours prior to operation
- Organise for someone to collect you from the hospital as you will be unable to drive
- Take your regular medications on the day of surgery unless otherwise instructed by Dr Stening or doctor who assessed you through the pre admission clinic (pertains to patients having a joint replacement)
